Welcome to Kandahar, Mt Buller, a comfortable lodge facility owned and managed by the Ski Club of Victoria and located in the heart of Mt Buller.

LODGE RULES      
In order to safeguard the Club’s property and to ensure the Club is run smoothly and efficiently, the Club has appointed a Manager whose directions must be adhered to.

LIABILITY OF THE CLUB
All persons enter the lodge at their own risk. The Club and Members thereof, accept no liability for any act, omission or breach of duty by any person which results in personal injury or damage, loss, theft of property. This includes personal items such as jewellery and cash.

BEHAVIOUR
Guests are responsible for their own proper conduct. If the manager determines that a guest’s behaviour is unacceptable for any reason the manager may refuse continued accommodation for that person without refund. The Club reserves the right to charge guests for repair of wilful damage to property or costs incurred.

Check- in is 4pm
Check out is 11.00am

If arrival is before 4pm check- in will be at the Whitt.
Your luggage will be stored in the Whitt Transit room.
All check–in procedures will be completed at the Whitt and your room key and access code will be given to you at 4pm at Kandahar.

If you arrive after 4pm check-in will be at Kandahar.
Please ring 03 57776024 for the access code.

A Credit Card record is required prior to check in due to unknown expenses occurring by members and guests staying at Kandahar

CHECK OUT is 11.00am
Please return your room key to the Whitt by 11.00am otherwise you will be a charge of $25.00 for the first hour then $20.00 for each subsequent hour.

Your luggage is to be removed from Kandahar and can be stored at the Whitt.
Prior arrangement is necessary if you wish to leave your luggage at the Whitt after 11.00. As the office will arrange access to the Whitt by the Car park at the back of the building.

An additional fee of $40.00 per room will be applied where guests have not cleared rubbish and cleaned room in accordance with club policy or if you require the room cleaned by SCV Staff

All guests are required to sign an agreement prior to arrival to include an authority to debit a nominated credit card for any additional charges or damage to property

FACILITIES PROVIDED

Accommodation
Items supplied include full linen, i.e. doonas, blankets, pillows, sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, soap and toilet paper.
Bathrooms, showers and toilets are shared and are abundantly and conveniently placed on each accommodation level. Guests will need to make their own beds and are asked to strip the bed linen on departure. Please place your linen in the bags supplied. All rubbish is to be removed from bedrooms and bathrooms cleaned prior to departure.

Kitchen & Dining
Full self catering kitchen and dining facilities are available, including all eating and cooking utensils, electric stoves, microwave ovens, refrigerator, freezer and dry goods storage.

A shelf in one of the two refrigerators has an allocated room number and a shelf in the dry stores area also has a corresponding room number.

This is your allocated space.

Basic condiments (tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper) are provided however you will need to be self sufficient with the remainder of your dietary requirements.

Each time you dine and enjoy the Kitchen and Dining facilities you must leave the premise completely cleaned.
Breakfast and Dinner packs are available on request. Please contact Reception at the Whitt 57776024 prior to arrival.

The Ski Club of Victoria - Kandahar lodge has a BYOG Licence. All members and guests are responsible for their personal alcohol stored at Kandahar. All alcohol must be stored in an area that is secured. No minor is to have access to alcohol. A combination code for the combination lock attached to one of the refrigerators will be given to you when checking in.

*Note, under Liquor Licensing Law (Victoria), it is an offence for a licensee to allow a drunken person on the premises. If a guest is drunk, violent or quarrelsome, you must leave the premises when asked.
Penalty $2,000.

Comfort
Central Heating and an open fire place within Kandahar make socialising with other guests a real treat and is just perfect for warming up and talking about your day on the slopes.

Wood is stored underneath the building and the children enjoy delivering the fire wood upstairs. Please speak with Rachael if you would like to enjoy the fireplace and she will advise of where the wood is.

Communal Sharing of all facilities
Share the Lounge, Kitchen, Dining room (with a superb view of the surrounding snow capped peaks), Drying room, and Laundry facilities.
It is a wonderful way of meeting new people and the children making new skiing friends.

Door Code
The main entrance to the lodge is fitted with a lock which requires a code to prevent unauthorised access. The code will be given once you have checked in.

Storage of Skis, Boards, Boots and Poles
Ski equipment must be stored in the Ski Room. All boots are to be removed in the entrance are and stored in the drying room. No outside boots are to be worn inside the lodge.

Ski Lockers and Boot Lockers are made available by prior arrangement. Permanent rental is available at $75.00 for the season

FIRE SAFETY IS IMPORTANT
Interference with fire equipment is prohibited.
The use of candles is prohibited.
NO SMOKING IN THE CONFINES OF THE BUILDING.
In case of fire, the Manager is designated Fire Warden.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Whitt offers cash out
The Whitt is a fully licensed  restaurant and bar which is open for breakfast, lunch(selected time) and dinner. Located just two minutes walk from Kandahar, in SCV’s Ivor Whittaker Memorial Lodge (the Whitt); Dinner bookings are essential; just call 5777 6024 to make a reservation.

The Whitt also hosts a buy and cook your own casual indoor BBQ dining facility called the Dump Inn.

IN CONCLUSION
The Ski Club of Victoria Board sends out a very warm welcome to you. Lodge living at Kandahar is a wonderful experience and enjoyable as it gives you the opportunity to meet other people, share stories and relax in the company of others.

Ski Lodges work because of one thing – RESPECT.
