Another massive week on the slopes for SCV Racing with an incredible 69 racers turning out for two of our most prestigious events:
The President’s Trophy and the Andy & Mandy Travelplan Cup.
The President’s Trophy was first established in 1972 by Peter McIntyre, this iconic trophy was reinstated in 2023 by the Racing Committee to honour consistency and composure under pressure.
Unlike traditional races, the President’s Trophy rewards the racer with the smallest time gap between Run 1 and Run 2, giving every skier a shot at glory, no matter their speed.
The Andy & Mandy Travelplan Cup is named after Ray Lopez’s children and the Andy & Mandy Cup is the longest-running perpetual trophy in SCV history — first awarded in 1988.
A huge thank you to Ray Lopez for his dedication in keeping this tradition alive.
Travelplan Cup: Awarded to the fastest Male & Female (off scratch) from any 40+ category:
Andy & Mandy Cup
Awarded to the fastest Male & Female (off scratch) from any 17 & Under category.
Fun fact: Susie Wellborne, was the very first winner of this trophy.
