Ski & Snowboard Racing

Racing is one of the main reasons SCV was created and until 1955, it managed all Victorian skiing and ski racing.

Today, race days are competitive, but never at the expense of fun. Everyone who participates gets the credit they deserve – unless their own children beat them (as often happens) and then there is plenty of friendly ribbing all round.

There are always plenty of races to choose from. SCV members can join Saturday racing, member ski-arounds, skills clinics and Saturday race presentations.

SCV Saturday races have helped to create many Australian ski and snowboard champions and the SCV Race Committee is keen to encourage plenty more.

Greg Munn Memorial Cup

A Toast to Those Who Loved This Mountain

The Greg Munn Memorial Cup celebrates the life of long-time SCV member and passionate Mt Buller skier Greg Munn.

First raced in 1990 following Greg’s passing at just 42, the Cup was brought back into circulation by the Munn & Brown family in 2017 and continues to honour Greg’s love of skiing, competition, friendship and this mountain.

This year, sponsor All Saints Estate brings another special family story to the race.

Their wine Pierre is named in honour of Peter ‘Pierre’ Brown – vigneron, father and a man who believed that good wine and good company were always worth celebrating.

Two great men. Two families. Two legacies. One celebration.

All Saints Estate will be raising a glass alongside us as we celebrate Greg, Pierre and the generations of family and friendship that continue their connection to the mountain.

Dorothy Tickle Cup

Calling All SCV Women to the Start Gate

Proudly presented by CABLE, the Dorothy Tickle Cup is about much more than being the fastest skier on the mountain.

Named after pioneering Australian skier Dorothy Tickle, the Cup celebrates courage, consistency and participation – and is designed so every female SCV member has a genuine chance to win.

The Cup is awarded to the female skier with the smallest time difference between Run 1 and Run 2, rewarding control, consistency and composure – not outright speed.

Whether you’re a seasoned racer or you’ve never stood in an SCV start gate before, this is your race.

CABLE founder Georgie Austin will join us to present the Dorothy Tickle Cup following the race, celebrating the fearless spirit of Dorothy and the women of SCV who continue her legacy today.
