What a turn out… 78 racers hit Little Buller Spur for the annual Hans Grimus Cup, another favorite here at the SCV. The kids dominated with 44 racers v’s the 34 adults. It was great to see 6 racers in the U5 Categories and a huge congratulations to Hudson and Suede Solomon, Frankie Lasky and the Chan family who raced their first ever race for the SCV today.
Hans instigated this trophy in 1989 when it was won by well known SCV member Roger Kemmelfield. Hans was at one time THE fastest man on Mt Buller and it’s great to see that his son Anton is following his fathers footsteps.
This years race was close, the difference between the top two racers was only .2 of a second. So we have to give an honourable mention to or second place candidate Christian Munn, but this year the cup was awarded to our U17’s racer, Anja Bjarnason.
